Authentic call to the Spanish embassy

Friday, April 25th, 2008

- Hi, I’m John!
- Hi!
- I’ve been here in Sweden for a couple of months, and now I want to go to Spain for a while. How do I do that legally?
- You fly back to the US, get a visa for the next couple of months, and then fly to Spain.
- Isn’t there any way to do it here? The american embassy?
- No.
- But I don’t want to spend a thousand dollars on flying back home just to fill in a couple of papers.
- Hmm… what is the date on the Swedish stamp in your passport?
- Ehm… I didn’t get any stamp?
- Well, you haven’t been here then, have you?…

I’m a catastrophy magnet

I was in New York in 2001. Later they crashed planes into houses.
I was on Bali in 2002. Later they bombed my favorite restaurant.
I was in Spain in 2003. Later they bombed the subway.
I was in Phuket in 2004. Later a tsunami flooded the city.
I was in Kolding in 2004. Later their fireworks factory exploded.
I’m in Montreal now, and a few days ago there was a school shooting at the McGill’s University.

Tomorrow I’m going to Toronto. Stay away.
